💡 Why You Should Always Treat Your Juniors Well — They Might Become Your Clients

ree

I wanted to share a personal story that taught me a powerful lesson in humility and foresight.

In recruitment, turnover is part of the game.

The sales-driven nature of our industry means many come and go.

Over the past 8 years, I’ve met countless recruiters.

Some became close colleagues.

Others moved on.

And quite a few transitioned in-house, eventually becoming… our clients.

One particular moment stands out.

A junior team member from another division left our company and joined an in-house role.

Months later, they needed help hiring and guess who they reached out to?

Not their original team.

Me.

💬 Here’s what I’ve learned:

Always be kind to your juniors.

☀️ They’re not just learning — they’re growing.

Correct them when needed, but never condescend.

In industries like banking, juniors often network upward, hoping to connect with decision-makers.

But don’t underestimate their influence — they might be the ones making decisions tomorrow.

💰 In recruitment, that influence can translate directly into business.

In other industries, it might mean referrals, partnerships, or unexpected opportunities.

Take your time to appreciate your juniors today!
