Many people have asked me why I chose to pay for my own flight to Singapore to speak at the NTU MBA class 🤔
It’s a fair question!
Even my dad and brother were puzzled, asking
“Daughter, what’s the point? Where’s the return on this?”
In Hong Kong, everyone is focused on ROI—just like I assess the value of every candidate or client I encounter 📊
⏰ I often ask myself if investing my limited 24 hours in someone is worthwhile
So I totally get where they’re coming from.
But the truth is, I’ve already spoken at HKU, HKUST, and CUHK multiple times.
🎤 I don’t want to confine myself to local exposure.
I believe in stepping out of my comfort zone.
If I don’t explore new opportunities, my life will remain unchanged.
With technology, the internet, and LinkedIn connecting us all, I want to see what’s out there
it’s like a treasure hunt! 🗺️🏆
Once you collect a few badges in one area, you naturally want to explore beyond and discover even more colorful ones. 🌈
Yes it involves taking risks
I’m grateful for this trip
I converted my cashback miles to premier miles, making my journey to Singapore essentially free 🌟
I had the chance to meet my followers and connect with amazing LinkedIn influencers there 🤝
I even got invited to tour various offices and clubs! 🏢🎉
These experiences and new knowledge would never happen if I did not go to the trip
What I learned is simple: stay open-minded 🧠
Embracing new experiences leads to fresh opportunities and outcomes in life 🌱🚀
