✏️ Stop asking about ROI: Once you establish a brand, opportunities come!

ree

🎯 When I started out in recruitment, I remember I had a KPI of

- meeting 2 clients every week

- 10 minimum cold calls every day

To build my books of clients from 0

Over time as I grew my client list,

I learnt that

1) It takes time to build our clientele and reputation

That’s why you can see the top sales are usually those who stayed in the game long enough to accumulate clients!

I am still far away from being the top sales - that’s why I am trying to use more leverage… which leads to

2) I need to build my brand through different methods such as

- Traditional cold calls

- Clients’ referrals

- Candidates’ referrals

- LinkedIn

🏆 I noticed the top sales are those who stay in the industry longer than me.

With more years of experience in this industry, their accumulated clients are definitely more than me.

☎️ They make more calls than me

💻 So I need to beat the competition by leveraging on social media - to reach out to more people than them

As my branding solidifies, there are more opportunities coming to me as well

For example, I would never imagine being invited to share about my career journey in TEDx!

3) Stop focusing on ROI

When I started out working, I would always ask about ROI

What’s the benefit of doing these things or meeting this person

But eventually I found out, when you do things voluntarily without calculating your ROI,

- You actually receive more in the end

- You open doors to completely different and new opportunities

📝 I write LinkedIn articles every week because I enjoy sharing my findings with my clients and candidates

I do it voluntarily and outside of my working hours

I don’t get paid by LinkedIn to write

☀️ So I highly encourage you to develop your own image and branding

☀️ To try things that can open more doors

☀️ To do things that you enjoy without asking for ROI

As a candidate you might find new job opportunities or speaking engagements!

As a client you might find sales leads or discover a new revenue source

Everyone is their own sales

You would never know what doors will open in your career and your life!

And that’s the fun part of life!
