Many people are curious about how recruiters like me find new clients.
When I started my first recruitment job, I had to build my own client list from scratch.
Aside from a few clients I inherited, most of my success came from daily cold calls and emails.
The toughest part of any sales job?
Landing new clients! 🙌
People generally dislike cold calls and emails
They would often hang up or say no to me
But if you want to thrive in sales (and earn big bucks 💰)
you have to embrace the challenge of rejection
That’s why sales roles come with higher pay
because you’re constantly facing those tough no's.
It’s not easy, but it’s part of the game.
Here’s a look at my cold emailing stats from last week:
- 500 emails sent ✉️
- 150 bounced back (those contacts no longer work at the firm)
- 8 said they have no hiring plans
- 1 wanted to chat about market info 🗂️
- 1 expressed interest but not in my function (still got a referral fee!) 🎉
My conversion rate?
A mere 0.2%.
How does your conversion rate compare? 🤔
What’s the most challenging part of your job?
And what’s the worst rejection you’ve ever faced?
