Hi LinkedIn family š
Can you believe itās almost 2026?Ā
Time flies and I just realised Iāve been writing on LinkedIn consistently for 1.5 years now.Ā
Two posts every week.Ā
Rain or shine or T10... šŖļøĀ
No excuses.
I share my real-life stories ā the wins, the stumbles, the lessons.Ā
š© And one question I get asked a lot is:
āNicole, how can you stay disciplined? You exercise daily and write weekly!ā
Hereās my honest answer:
1ļøā£ Discipline came from seeing results.
When I started posting regularly, opportunities started showing up ā speaking gigs, event invites, new connections.Ā
It felt magical.Ā
But I knew it wasnāt magic.Ā
It was consistency.Ā
If I wanted the momentum to continue, I had to keep showing up.
2ļøā£ Discipline came from failure.
Iāve learned the hard way that success isnāt something you reach and then relax.Ā
Itās something you have to sustain.
Let me share two personal stories:
šŖļø Nicole's Failure 1: The blog that couldāve been big.Ā
Years ago, I wrote for a site that paid writers based on views like Google AdSense.Ā
At one point, I was earning USD100 per post every day.
But when my job at Citi got hectic, I stopped writing.Ā
I told myself Iād come back later.Ā
I never did.Ā
Looking back, I probably couldāve earned more than my salary and built a loyal following.Ā
But I gave up too soon.
āļø Nicole's Failure 2: The bonus trap.Ā
In recruitment, you earn commission after hitting a target.Ā
One quarter, I hit my 3-month target in just 1 month.Ā
I thought
šļø āIām good now!ā and coasted for the next two months.Ā
Next quarter? I crashed. Hard.Ā
That experience taught me: success rewards consistent effort ā not entitlement.
So now, I write. I show up.Ā
I stay consistent.Ā
Because Iāve seen what happens when I donāt.
š¬ What about you?Ā
What was your biggest failure and how did you bounce back?Ā
Letās share, learn, and grow together.
