🚀 The Secret to Being “Employable”? Market Yourself!

Every day, I receive countless DMs and messages from friends.
The questions are often the same:
- Where should I move to?
- What market is hot?
- Which firm is hiring?
- What second path should I pivot to since jobs no longer feel secure?
Of course, knowing which markets are booming or which firms are hiring is useful.
But here’s a thought:
Maybe we should also focus on how to be more “employable.”
We need to market ourselves.
Our skills and services.
Not just waiting for opportunities but becoming the kind of professional people want to reach out to, hire, or headhunt. 🌟
1. Think Like a Marketer
In today’s competitive job market, every employee (whether back office or middle office) is essentially in sales.
We’re selling ourselves, our skills, and our unique value.
The question is: Why you, and not someone else?
2. Build Your Reputation
Another survival skill?
Becoming the best-known in your industry.
If you’re a CFO, Accountant, or Lawyer, share your expertise regularly.
Write, post, and speak about your perspective so clients, peers, and future employers see you as a thought leader.
3. Stay Proactive
We can’t afford to be passive anymore.
The market is too volatile these days.
Opportunities don’t just fall into our laps.
We need to capture them.
That means constantly learning, sharing, and positioning ourselves as the go-to person in our field. 💡
👉 The takeaway: Being employable isn’t just about chasing the next hot market.
It’s about marketing yourself, building credibility, and staying proactive so opportunities come to you.
