🌱 Feeling Lost After Hitting Goals

After posting about LEAN FIRE, I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting.
The question that keeps looping in my mind is:
“What’s next?”
One of my mentors, a former MD, once told me:
“You should constantly set new goals after hitting the old ones. Now that you’ve reached lean fire, why not aim to double your net worth?”
But here’s the thing:
💰 Financial goals no longer motivate me.
I don’t need a lot.
Growing up, society and my parents taught me to chase milestones like:
-Climb the corporate ladder
- Buy your first property
And yes, achieving those goals brought short bursts of happiness.
But after a few days, the excitement faded, and I was back to feeling the same.
That’s when I realized:
✏️ For the past 10 years, I’ve been setting the wrong kind of goals.
Financial and material goals matter, but they don’t give me lasting fulfillment.
What truly motivates me now are goals rooted in values and meaning:
🌍 Contributing back to society
🎓 Creating a scholarship to encourage graduates to pursue entrepreneurship
💡 Bringing more positive impact to the world
✍️ Writing and sharing to help others who feel the same sense of being lost
Yesterday, I listened to Ronny Chieng’s Harvard speech, and it reminded me again: the pursuit of meaning is what keeps us moving forward.
Pursuing something you are passionate about
Live a better offline life than an online life
I will keep brainstorming what's meaningful to me
So here’s my weekend thought for you:
👉 What’s a meaningful goal for you right now?
👉 Beyond financial or material milestones, what keeps you inspired to grow?
Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about hitting goals, it’s about finding the ones that truly matter🌱
