When Is Enough Enough? đź’đź’¸

The other night at dinner, I told my dad that I’m about to hit Lean FIRE soon.
Without missing a beat, he said,
“It’s time for you to set bigger financial goals! Maybe rent a bigger place!”
I almost choked on my food.
I looked at him and asked,
“But why do we need so much?”
He smiled and said
“So you have the choice to live somewhere bigger and fancier.”
Later, I shared this with a close girlfriend.
She gave me similar advice:
“Keep making more, then use the extra money to buy things you like.”
“Make enough so you can pass it on to your kids someday.”
The ideas kept coming:
A bigger home, more luxury, more security, more stuff.
But it made me pause and reflect.
Do we really need all that?
When is enough, actually enough?
It’s a question I find fascinating and surprisingly hard to answer.
For now, my focus remains on investing in myself and my career.
Growing skills, building experiences, rather than chasing luxury or possessions.
Contributing and building something for the society for a positive impact.
I believe that true financial freedom isn’t just about the numbers or the things we own.
It’s about the peace of mind and choices we create for ourselves.
Maybe also to create a lasting impact
What about you?
When do you think enough is enough?
