When Things Are Moving Slowly... š

This quarter has been really slow for me.
The past Q2 and Q3 have been great for me as my buy side clients were super quick.
But now the buy side market seems to slow down in Q4.
I have plenty of pipelines going but every single deal is moving at a snail's pace.
Either there are endless rounds of interviews...
Or the gap between each interview stretches beyond 2 weeks.
Which makes forecasting my Q4 revenue nearly impossible š
And here's the real problem: it's almost Christmas š
HR and hiring managers start taking leave from mid-December until next year.
Technically, I have roughly ONE month left to wrap things up for Q4.
I know Q4 has always been slow for me.
Nine years in recruitment, I've seen this cycle again and again.
But it still frustrates me when everything crawls.
(Yes, all the self-help books say there's no point controlling the uncontrollable.
But sometimes the uncertainty still freaks me out even after 9 years! š )
Here's what slow markets have taught me:
š¹Ā Never rely on one deal.Ā Keep multiple pipelines alive, so if a few fall through, things aren't completely dead
š¹Ā Create your own momentum.Ā Catch up with more clients. Write more LinkedIn articles. Ask my candidates to write my recommendations on LinkedIn. Meet more people in person. Always meet people in person to get more information!! Movement creates opportunities.
š¹Ā Give yourself a pat on the back.Ā If you did your best and things are still slow ā it's fine. Sometimes it's just time to move on š
So tell me š
Are things moving slowly at your end too? If yes ā how do YOU handle it?
