When I started working after graduation, I had to sit at the office all day long
𦓠I started to develop back pain
So when I joined Michael Page, one of our staff benefits is that we are entitled to our annual body check (Thank you Page!)
At age 24, I had my first thorough body checkĀ
And I was diagnosed with osteopenia (Loss of bone density) at AGE 24!!
āļø Because I am Vitamin D, calcium and Iron deficient (Not sure if itās inherited)
So I panicked and asked doctor for help
Turns out if you want to have healthier bones
- You need to do weight trainingĀ
- Take more calciumĀ
- Absorb more day lightĀ
š§āāļø Hence I took up exercising such as weight training and yoga
After several years, my bone density improved but it was still on the verge of osteopeniaĀ
But I have observed that exercising is quite similar to our career
1. You need to do something long enough to see results (Consistency + Discipline)
2. Resistance is a must for growthĀ
(I need to lift heavier weights to increase my bone density - If I keep lifting the same weight, it will not improve my osteopenia problem)
I highly encourage you to take time out to do a body check (if your company insurance allows it or pay to do a simple body check)!
š” How has exercise taught you about life or career in general?
