💼✨ You Only Close a Deal When Your Client Pays

Last Sunday, I had the privilege of being invited by HSBC and JA to judge a secondary school entrepreneurship competition at Kai Tak Art Mall 2 🎉
Over 40 booths filled with passionate secondary school students, each trying to sell their homemade products
From creative boardgames to DIY folders, the energy was incredible. 🙌
After the judging, I bought a few products to encourage and support our local students. 🌱
💡Here’s what struck me:
Selling isn’t something you can learn from a textbook.
Teachers, professors, even parents will always buy from you out of support.
But the real test is convincing a stranger, someone who doesn’t know you, to take out their wallet and pay.
That moment is when you know you’ve truly closed a deal.
That’s why I think schools should run more of these real‑life entrepreneurship competitions.
They teach lessons no classroom can:
- Resilience
- Persuasion
- The thrill of turning “no” into “yes.” 🚀
Honestly, it was worth waking up early on a Sunday to be part of this.
The event was meaningful, inspiring, and a reminder that the next generation of entrepreneurs is already here. 🌟
👉 What do you think?
Should schools teach more real‑world selling instead of just theory?
