This week, I spoke with a number of candidates
And a recurring theme came up:
- Discontent
Many of them, especially younger professionals, admitted they felt stuck.
Not just in their roles, but in their outlook.
They told me:
- Promotions feel out of reach
- Their jobs feel unstable
- Roles are being outsourced to Malaysia, India, Vietnam
- Roles will be replaced by AI after they assist the company to do transformation projects
⏰ Despite long hours, the rewards aren’t what they used to be
It’s not just burnout.
It’s a quiet sense of hopelessness.
Which I understand because I felt the same way 2 years ago when recruitment hit rock bottom
💭 The Question I Always Ask My Candidates/Clients:
“Are you willing to accept this outcome if the economy stays in recession for the next 5–10 years?”
“Are you okay with staying exactly where you are forever?”
The answer is always: No.
And honestly, I’ve asked myself the same thing.
📉 My Own Wake-Up Call
Two years ago, my sales revenue dropped hard.
It was tied to the Hong Kong market, and I felt the pressure.
I could’ve stayed stuck.
But instead, I shifted my mindset.
I started thinking bigger, experimenting with new strategies, and showing up differently.
That shift changed everything in how I see my life and career
🚀 Your Weekly Reminder
If you’re feeling stuck, ask yourself:
”Am I truly okay with this? Or is there a part of me that’s ready for more?"
✈️ Because if you want to change, it is not about working hard purely.
It is about working smart and trying something new and taking risks.
💡 Every week is a chance to try something new.
To think bigger.
To elevate your life and career: One bold move at a time.
Have a great Sunday!
