Can you believe it? Itās already mid-June! (I am ageing..) ā³āØ
What have you accomplished so far?Ā
For me, I had the opportunity to speak at CUHK, JA, GEOX and NTU MBA in these 6 months + signed new clients for the company.Ā
Now is the perfect time to dive into your Mid-Year Review!
This is a crucial moment to:
- Reflect on your achievements š
- Discuss your personal goals with your manager š¤
- Navigate your career path within the organisation š
- Evaluate your overall career trajectory š
Make sure your supervisor knows your aspirations!Ā
- Is it a promotion? š
- A salary increase? š°
- Building your brand within the industry? š
Donāt shy away from seeking constructive feedback!Ā
I always ask my MD how can I be a better sales!
This will give you a competitive edge no matter where you go šŖ
Years ago, when I conducted my mid-year review with my supervisor
I also took the opportunity to discuss my personal goals.Ā
- I told her I wanted to buy a property in Soho.
- I told her I wanted to set up a named scholarship.
- I also told her I wanted to set up a matchmaking company (which I failed as I charged the fee too low to make it sustainable)
Remember:Ā
- Your managers are there to support you
- whether your goals are professional or personal
- No goal is too big or too small š
- As long as it is meaningful to you then it is your purpose
I once read fromĀ Stephen A. Schwarzman:
You might as well dream big since the effort of pursuing a big or small dream is the same.
Dream Big for your career!
