šŸ† Winners Take All

The market feels a little strange right now.. almost extreme.

It seems like we’re living in a ā€œwinners take allā€ environment.

During the long weekend last week, I wandered around Soho and TST.

Here’s what I noticed:

🄐 Famous spots like Bakehouse, Blue Bottle, and those cafés/restaurants trending on Xiao Hong Shu had lines stretching down the street.

šŸŖ‘ Meanwhile, other shops without the same hype were quiet, almost empty.

The contrast was striking.

And it reminded me of today’s market:

Big players keep growing, while smaller ones struggle to get noticed.

It’s not just retail.

In recruitment and retail, the same pattern shows up:

The longest-standing players, who’ve built their reputation over time, often attract more clients because they can last long enough to capture everything.

This ā€œwinner takes allā€ dynamic is everywhere from coffee shops to careers.

It makes me wonder:

Is cashflow, longevity, or visibility the ultimate differentiator? šŸ¤”

So I’ll throw the question back to you:

šŸ‘‰ What trends have you picked up in the market lately?

P.S. I visited another owl cafe in Osaka last month!
