🤦♀️ Turns out I am a greedy person: I am unsatisfied after hitting my goals.

During the long weekend, I took the time to clean my place.
🔖 I read my diary and the goals I set in 2016 - my first year of work.
On that page, I wrote:
“I will be happy with HK$60K – 80k monthly and don’t intend to work any longer.”
📙 Then I thought to myself
“I already hit this goal. However I am still unsatisfied and think the amount is insufficient. I probably need more money.”
⌛ Looking back after I graduated, I only spent HK$3,000 – 5,000 monthly eating cha chang tang (Hong Kong version of hawker centre) and without much recreation experience.
I don’t pay for any facial, gym membership or other courses – unlike today.
⏰ As I age, my expenses increase and hence my goals that I used to set for myself became unrealistic in today’s standard.
Or maybe I changed – I become greedier and want even more in life.
🔶 This reminded me of 2 things:
1. My previous MD used to teach me to set new goals after you hit your original goal so you can keep progressing.
2. I read a book that constant chasing after goals does not represent happiness. It will end up in a loop.
💡 Up till now, I still do not have an answer of what brings happiness apart from progress.
📮 And does progress mean higher salary, higher title and higher standard of living?
I am still exploring the answer to this question.
