💸 My Bonus Dropped… and Here’s Where It Went

In my last post, I shared how torn I was about spending my bonus and salary.
On one hand, the practical voice in my head was screaming:
“Save it all! The economy’s unpredictable!”
This quarter might be great.
Next quarter?
Just base salary
Or worse — no job if I don’t hit targets.
(Yes, my dad even gave me a copy of Murphy’s Law because he says I overworry a lot. He’s not wrong.)
After 10 years in the workforce, I’ve learned one thing:
Nothing is guaranteed.
So I tend to play it safe.
But then… it was also my birthday. And I wanted to treat myself.
But I felt guilty if I spent it all.... (Not sure if you guys feel this way too)
So here’s how it went down:
👜 70% – Handbag, hotel spa, fancy dinner, and drinks.
🏠 30% – Property and salary taxes.
And just like that, my last quarter paycheck + commission = gone.
Now I am back at the office working hard and making more phone calls!!
📝 My clients are mostly doing budget planning now.
They are now discussing how much the salary review should be and the bonus payout.
🔥 Since it is bonus season soon, how do you plan to spend your upcoming bonus?
