⚖️ I Lost Myself in Work and Family Alone (Don't let that happen to you)

I recently realised something about my own life:

- It has become all about work and family.

Especially during this Chinese New Year Holidays.

My days are filled with candidate calls, writing LinkedIn articles, and then heading home to spend time with family.

I basically had to bai-nin for 4 full days at my family and cousins..

If not bai-nin, I might take out my laptop to work.

And honestly, I think this lifestyle is a bit unhealthy.

Somewhere along the way, I lost touch with other parts of life:

Friends, hobbies, and the simple joy of free time.

Opportunity cost is real.

The more time you spend in one area, the less time you have for another.

And when all of your energy goes into just work and family, you risk losing balance.

I even caught myself forgetting how to use free time if I wasn’t working or with family.

That’s when I realised: This isn’t healthy.

During the holidays, I started making dates with my friends.

I signed up for new hobby classes.

Starting today, I force myself to attend a fitness/interest class twice a week after work.

✨ A well-balanced life matters.

Work, family, friends, hobbies.

Each plays a role in keeping us fulfilled and resilient.

So here’s my reminder:

- Don’t let yourself get consumed by just one or two aspects of life.

- Make space for the people and passions that recharge you.

- What’s one hobby or friendship you’d like to reconnect with this year?
