🚗 Convincing My Dad to Use Uber

Last month was my dad’s birthday.
As a gift, I installed the Uber app on his phone and linked my credit card.
My hope was simple: that he and my mom could commute more easily around Hong Kong, and that I could see them earlier and spend more time together.
But here’s the twist:
After a whole month, he hasn’t used it once.
When I asked him why, his answer was classic:
“I don’t want to waste your money.”
I explained that it wasn’t about the money.
It was about convenience, safety, and more family time.
Yet I realized something important:
convincing parents to change their habits is harder than closing any sales deal.
This made me wonder:
- How do you persuade parents to try something new?
- Have you ever managed to convince your parents to adopt a new app, service, or lifestyle change?
I’d love to hear your stories and advice.
