“Always Second Place… Can I Ever Be First?!!”

As 2025 comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting on the past 20 years

Career, studies, competitions!

Here’s something surprising:

☀️ I’ve never been first in anything.

Not in swimming or writing competitions back in university. (Always 2nd or 3rd)

Not in monthly sales rankings (Same.. 2nd or 3rd top biller of a particular month......never the 1st..)

Even on LinkedIn—where I’ve invested so much effort

I started 2025 ranked #3 in Hong Kong’s Career category (Favikon).

So I made a commitment:

✅ Post every single week

✅ Minimum one or two posts

✅ 52 weeks of consistency

And it worked… sort of?

I climbed from #3 to #2.

But here’s the truth:

Being second feels… unfinished!!

I wonder: What does it take to be #1?

More effort? More creativity? More courage? Probably all of the above.

So in 2026, I’m setting an audacious goal:

Win first place in something 🏅

Anything

Maybe LinkedIn ranking.

Maybe monthly revenue.

Maybe a competitive sport.

I hope I can grow to prove to myself that I can break the pattern!
